Register Now for the 2017 Geriatric Symposium

If you are a health care professional or care for an older person, make plans to attend the 2017 Geriatric Symposium: Texas Taking the Next Step. The event, held Aug. 7-8 in Austin, will focus on dementia in long-term care and community settings.

Highlights of the free conference include a virtual dementia tour, a first-hand account about caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease and talks from gerontology experts from around the United States.

Continuing education hours will be available for nurses, licensed social workers, registered dietitians, ombudsmen and other professionals. Sponsors include DADS and DSHS, as well as community partners including The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing, Texas Health Care Association and TMF Quality Innovation Network.
